Guests at the Corner Corner Singapore x EVERHĀOS pop-up, surrounded by vinyl records

Corner Corner Singapore x EVERHĀOS

Just like most of our pop-ups, this one was spontaneous (we like to believe the more impromptu, the better). It all began at World of Coffee Bangkok.

That’s where we met Carmen, founder of Corner Corner. Our paths crossed through mutual friends from Sauce Coffee. On the celebratory evening at the end of the event, over beers, we discussed the different challenges facing the coffee markets in Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Curious to know more, as we had been when organising our event with PRIDI in Bangkok, we thought it would be a great idea to experience the market firsthand and bring our philosophy of spotlighting Indonesian coffee to Singapore. We were absolutely delighted that Corner Corner could accommodate this.

Tucked away along Duxton Road, Corner Corner shares its building with RPM by D’Bespoke. The space has its own distinctive charm, with a carefully curated vinyl collection spinning everything from reggae to Brazilian pop as Carmen brews your cup (strictly filter!).

Our line-up consisted of three filter coffees, two coffee cocktails, and one non-alcoholic coffee-based drink. The filter selection included Indonesia’s Natcha Lot 08 alongside one of our recently released Colombian anaerobic Geishas. We also explored Indonesian coffee through cocktails: an Irish Coffee made with our Bali Coconut Water Assisted Fermentation, and an Espresso Martini built around our classic Sumatra Natural espresso.

We were admittedly a little unsure about hosting the event on a Thursday. With people still at work and the weekend just around the corner, would anyone come?

As it turned out, we had a little help from our friends. The event coincided with AFC, Another Coffee Fest, in Tanjong, bringing coffee people from across Asia together in Singapore. Throughout the day, the city was buzzing with coffee, and many friends and festival-goers made their way to Corner Corner afterwards, or stopped by in between visits, to cool down, have a drink, and talk coffee with us.

What made the evening especially memorable was seeing just how strong Carmen’s community is. Corner Corner has built a wonderfully enthusiastic following, with regulars showing up genuinely excited to discover more about Indonesian coffee.

We had so many conversations with people who already have a deep connection to Indonesia, whether through business visits to Jakarta or a quick getaway to Bali. We hope the coffees they tasted that day sparked a little more curiosity to explore beyond the familiar destinations: towards West Java, Central Java, Sumatra, and the many other regions where Indonesian coffee is grown.

This is just the beginning; we’re very excited to be bringing Everhāos coffees to Singapore very soon. Watch this space!
