About the Origin
Siko Kebele lies in the highlands of Uraga, in Ethiopia’s Guji Zone. At elevations of 2,200–2,250 metres, Ethiopian heirloom coffee grows on small farms, largely under shade.
The community includes approximately 400–600 smallholder farmers, each tending around one hectare. Coffee cultivation is a livelihood passed down through generations, with traditional farming practices and careful handpicking at the heart of each harvest.
The Process
Farmers deliver ripe red cherries to the processing site operated by Rad Best Trading PLC. The cherries are depulped, fermented and washed before the coffee is dried over 10–12 days.
This washed process highlights the coffee’s clean character, allowing its delicate florals, fruit notes and rock sugar sweetness to come through clearly.
